So somehow I took a step back but still stood my ground with who I allowed in my life. I spent some time with Mr. AOS this Labor Day weekend. He hasn't changed a bit. He is still charming and comical but our meeting ended with the same argument. (It wasn't really an argument, it was more of a 'I'm no doing what you want me to do' conversation.) Mr AOS wanted me to visit him in the valley after I picked him up from the airport and spent the entire day with him. He's lucky I didn't have other plans, otherwise I would not have seen him this weekend. When I told him I would no longer be driving out to see him in the valley until he visited me in L.A., he was displeased to say the least. He isn't use to me saying no to his requests.
Mr. AOS insisted that I compromise on the sitution. Unfortunately he has no true understanding of what compromise is. Mr. AOS wants to go back to the way things were before, where if I wasn't doing anything I would drive out to see him. It didn't matter what time it was, I would hop in my car and truck to the Valley. That was at least an hour drive from my old place.
I'm not that same person anymore. I'm willing to compromise by my definition and on my terms. I'm so glad I snapped outta that mess! If he wants to see me, he can come out here. Otherwise, he can have a good life. Without me.
Honestly I'm not concerned with him or anyone else. I'd rather focus on setting my goals and accomplishing them. If I go the rest of the year without a date, so be it. It's not like I don't get offered to be taken out often, I'd just rather spend my time focusing on what I want to do with MY life and MY career. Dating has been nothing but a distraction thus far. So its been put on the back burner. I'll continue to surround myself with friends and family who are supporting my decisions and helping me achieve my goals.
Plus I always have Jack, so I'll be okay.
An insightful look into the mind of an over-analytical big-city woman.

August Update
On the dating side, I'm still single sexy and free. I'm not dating anyone. Let me take that back, I'm not taking the one person I'm kinda seeing seriously. I call him when I'm bored and I think he does the same because he is not very consistent. Its someone I've written about before and once I give you his M. O. you'll know exactly who I'm talking about.
We haven't even kissed since we've gotten back in contact but when I need some male attention, I call him. If he lived closer, I'd probably spend more time with him, but that truck to the valley is no joke. If he liked going out more, I might also spend more time with him, but he is a homebody and I can 'kick it' solo. His accent is still sexy as hell but his dating style leaves nothing to look forward to.
Mr. AOS still doesn't count as someone I'm dating. He's there and when I want to get away from the confines of my house and books.
On a more important note, I am happy to announce that I finally have some direction in my life. It's been keeping me pretty busy so I haven't left my house too much. I will admit I do get lonely occasionally and when I do I call Mr. AOS. Til I have more time, I'm only worried about me. I'm focused man.

July Recap
July Update
There are no men to report on.
I don’t have the energy, desire or patience to date. I don’t give my number out. If someone happens to get my number, I don’t answer phone calls. I’m at a point in my life where I’m focusing on MY next move. I know there are a lot of great men out there and when I’m ready to get to know them, I’m sure I will find one. But right now, I have me to focus on and the following questions to answer.
Where is my career going?
Should I go back to school?
Do I plan on staying in LA for the next 5 years?
If I move, where the heck am I going?

June Recap
Dating still falls low on my list of current priorities. I haven’t made much effort to meet new men. Yes, I still go out during the weekend, but if I give my number out, I hardly return any calls. I’m just not interested in going through the song and dance of meeting new men. I haven’t even spent too much time with the men I already had around.
I don’t want to completely rely on fait and such because if I am not putting in any effort, there is not much that fait can do. I now have this big bed in my room with no one to share it with; which is fine because I am enjoying having all the space to myself at this moment. Life is so going well without the complications of a man. I have managed to keep a couple around.
1. Chicago – After his visit last month, one thing is for certain, I really like him. I enjoy being around him. He is funny, cute, smart and artistic. Chicago is all the things I like in a man. Of course, there is something wrong with him. He is too guarded. I am patiently waiting for him to let his guard down but like I told him, if I don’t see a change, I won’t be sticking around. I know this scenario all too well, seeing as I am usually the one staying guarded. If he doesn’t change, then unfortunately, even though I really like him I’ll move on.
2. LB – LB is the guy I never named. We have hung out a few times and there really isn’t much there. He is handsome and has a cool personality. But something about being around him really bores me. Maybe it’s his lack of ambition and our failure at connecting on a humorous level that has left me uninterested. He has been pretty consistent when it comes to contact, which may be the only thing keeping him around. If that changes, ehhh, I’ll move on.
3. There are no more…
I don’t have any interest in adding any either.
Stay tuned…these droughts don’t usually last too long. Even when I don’t try…

May Recap
With everything that has been going on, I haven’t been on one single date. I haven’t even given out my phone number. And those men that were around have fallen to the wayside. For the last few weeks my world has been turned upside down but luckily for me I landed on my two big sturdy feet.
I had to get a new apartment but it was truly a blessing in disguise. Because of it, I am actually excited when I think about going home. Recently I have spent countless hours thinking of ways I can add a little spice to it and best thing of all, I have complete and total privacy. Its funny how four walls can make a person as happy as it has for me.
I will be spending the next couple of weeks playing interior decorator. This past weekend was exhausting and expensive, but also exhilarating. This blank canvas that I have been given to create my dream world is the apple of my eye right now. And any man who wants any of my time will have to find a way to fit in. Which may be a tad bit difficult, being that I am 6 feet tall and quite strong, I don’t really require a mans height or strength when it comes to hanging things.
If the right man comes along in between my drive from work to home and vice versa, I guess I’ll look up from my steering wheel and give him a chance.
Here are the few that have made it through my hiatus and are kinda still around:
1. Detroit – I think that I am leaning on him more lately because I know that he is not available. When he told me he would be coming to my friends’ fundraiser a lounge, I texted and told him to leave Mrs. Red at home. I of course followed that with a “j/k.” Which he immediately knew was insincere and he called me out on it. “You’re not playing,” he replied. “I am definitely not playing,” I replied.
At the party, I tried not to stay in any one spot too long, as I normally do. I had to work the room. Our relationship is based strongly on sarcasm. Something I also share with his friend. We don’t usually take any comment personally, which is what makes our conversations so entertaining. At one point in the night his friend felt a bit stung about a comment Detroit had made earlier and decided that the best way to get him back was to share some information with me. Detroit clowned the fact that he wouldn’t be getting married any time soon and his friend said, “Well yeah, seeing as you are definitely on that path, I guess not.”
I immediately excused myself from the conversation. The comment was supposed to make Detroit uneasy, as it did, but it also made me uneasy as well. I know, Detroit is in a relationship, but it didn’t dawn on me how serious things could be getting with is current partner. I know that if I want to say something, the time is now, but it isn’t getting any easier as time passes.
2. Chicago – He is coming out here next Friday and he has been one of those causalities of my move. I just haven’t had time or desire to sit on the phone with him for hours on end. But at the same time, I haven’t had too many missed calls to not return. At this point, I’m not even sure I’m going to see him when he comes out here. I’ll know for sure by the end of the week.
3. That’s it…there are no more…shocking I know.
My list hasn’t been this short all year. Actually it has never been this short. Especially considering the fact that Detroit doesn’t count and Chicago doesn’t really either.
Fortunately, right now I’m not concerned about it. I’m focused on me 100 percent. Plus, I don’t have any furniture in my room just yet and rug burn is no laughing matter.

April Recap: Try and Keep Up
I knew that the long list I had last month wouldn't last. And boy am I more at ease now that I don't have to keep up with who said or did what and where they came from and etc.
Here they are, in no particular order:
1. Chicago – We have a date. He will be out here next month on business and is coming 2 days early to see me.
2. Mr. IE – Same as before. He is a friend. We still flirt and play catch up a couple of times a week.
3. K2 – Its just not gonna happen. I don't think he understands that I am not interested because he continues to hit me up. Sad to say, but if I'm bored and hungry on a weekend, I know just who to call.
4. Mr. AOS – Too inconsistent for my tastes. I tried to make it work but he wasn't willing to put in the effort I think I deserve. He is good at taking a hint because I haven't heard from him since I gave him one.
5. Detroit – We are just friends. Sorry about the April fools joke. I couldn't help myself.
6. TStar- I will talk about him when I am good and ready. Not too much to tell yet.
0. Si Si (That's me) – Not as exhausted as before trying to keep up.

March Recap
While looking through my phone call log, I realized how hard it is to keep up with the potential suitors I interact with. I thought it would be a good idea to do a monthly recap to keep them all in order. It seems when I least expect it my list goes back up but I am sure it will not stay at this level for much longer.
Here they are, in no particular order:
1. Chicago – He is still there, thousands of miles away and I am here in Sunny California. May go out to see him next month.
2. Mr. IE – Moved into the friend zone. We flirt and play catch up a couple of times a week.
3. K2 – Lacks the proper backbone required to date me. I thought flying me around the world would be an ideal proposition. But his execution is not making jet-setting with him appealing. Not practical for casual dating.
4. Mr. AOS – Cooked dinner for me Sunday, but I never made it out to see him. I was more interested in going to sleep. I had a long, scary Saturday evening.
5. Detroit – went to his basketball game Monday night. We’re still good friends. Don’t plan on going backwards.
6. Shaggy – Still in the ‘I’m not talking about him stage.’ Once I find substantive information, I’ll introduce him.
7. Hazel - Still in the 'I'm not talking about him stage.' Again, once I find something about him to share, I will.
0. Si Si (That's me) – Exhausted trying to keep up.
